I don't recommend waiting.

Get memtest86 and a dos bootable USB drive, then set it to loop one time before going to sleep. Check it after you wake up. If the memory is bad, a 4+ hour loop will have a 99.998% chance of finding it.

Or run the system check on endless loop. If you are using PC Check, look at the results after waking. If you are using the Dell ones, don't worry, they will wake you on finding a problem.

It's better to know before you have the problem reoccur so you can prepare to handle it.

This is what I found to be the cause of BSOD...Driver IRQL not less or equal.

Suggested to disable BIOS memory.

After that, I usually run a system board/proc tester. I use PC Check, but if that's not available (it is expensive), just grab the Dell diagnostics. They will run on non-Dell hardware. Set them to loop for a bit.

If all that passes, software. I gave up trying to figure out most Windows software problems, they tend to take longer to find than to nuke and pave. Backup data, reformat and reinstall.
I used to run memtest86 off a 3.5 floppy drive
is there a version that boots from a USB stick?
and does it have to be the only thing on the USB drive?

3.5 floppies are bootable but USB drives are usually not.
also how to copy or grab the Dell diagnostics?

Either corrupted RAM or system board BIOS issue. Move the RAM DIMMs in the unit, swapping spots. If it's the RAM DIMM that's bad, swapping their position will show a bad spot in memtest. If it's a board issue, the same error will occur. Check to see if your system board has a BIOS update you can apply. If that does not fix it, it'll be the system board. Get ready to replace the computer as soon as economically feasible, as the problem will get worse over time.
