Economy OK, this is what burns me!!!

OK, this is what burns me. I was looking for something at Amazon, and when I found one such product, right under the price I saw this listing of information:

The product is manufactured in china
The product is highly durable and easy to use
Easy installation and easy handling
Great for cleaning kitchen sink
Great for cleaning bathtub and shower
Cleans washing machine drains
Fits drain size of 1-1/2 to 3-Inch
Made in the U.S.A.

WHAT??? Is that part of the ARRA lies Obama make possible?

If you don't know, under the ARRA, a company with sufficient investment in the U.S. (7.2 million dollars) can mark all of their products Make in the U.S.A., regardless of where they are actually made!

Say what you want about him. But his ties are quality shit. I bought some about ten years ago at a TJ Max for like $10 each. Not sure why they didn't sell and wound up in a discount store but they are quality ties.

I bought my ties over ten years ago. Personally I dont care if they were made in China. They are quality ties.

Did he promise ten years ago to make things in the USA?

That says nothing about a company with a relatively small ($7.2M, but really $7.8M) investment in the US being able to mark all their products as made in the USA. Citation still needed.

Your original post from 2013 is a completely erroneous reading of the ARRA. I did some research before I asked for a citation and the section of the ARRA you're referring to is 1605. It says that if there is an overriding international agreement and the project is valued at $7,804,000 or more then the buy American provisions need not apply to iron, steel, or manufactured goods from designated countries. It does not say that a company can label everything as made in America if there is a $7.8M investment.

ARRA Buy American

Your link describes what it takes to be labeled as Made in the USA, specifically for textiles. The only thing is says about the Buy American Act is "Requires that a product be manufactured in the U.S. of more than 50 percent U.S. parts to be considered Made in USA for government procurement purposes." I think warmonger and I are in agreement on that, our disagreement is whether a company can make a small investment in the US and then label all their products as made in the USA.

not taking either side, just posting the guidelines to the usage of Made in USA branding
