WTF! Kids Today, Especially My Daughter!

ok, i'm not sure if you guys have heard of the clips on youtube about swallowing cinnamon. this has nothing to do with that except stupid shit kids do today. i told both my kids, jake 13 and chloe 11, not to do it. don't let me catch you doing this stupid shit it can fuck you up, choke the shit out of you.

well a few weeks ago i noticed a rash on her arm, i asked her what happened and she said she didn't know. so i put some cortisone on for a few days and it didn't go away. so after a week, i was really concerned so i took her to the doctor. the doctor said it looked like a fungus rash, something ringworm, maybe. you she prescribes a prescription for some cream for it. so dr. bill and prescription somewhere around a $175, prescription was $51. well, i put it on there for a few days like the good doc said and still not getting any better.

well come to find out she, chloe, told her cousin that she did salt and ice challenge. i have no idea what the fuck this is so i look it up. apparently, you sprinkle salt on you arm and then put an ice cube on it, then see how long you can leave it on there before you take it off, whoever leaves it on there the longest wins. again, WTF!

so i guees after having the talk about don't let me catch you doing the cinnamon thing, she felt like she would get in trouble for this thing, i guess. i haven't talked to her about it yet. she is with my mom and her cousins right now.

here is a picture of what her rash/burn looked like. this is not her, but it looked just like this, except her's was on the back of her arm.

oh well, i have vented, now maybe it won't be soooo bad for my daughter, but her ass will be grounded though. she could have fessed up and not let me waste $175.

Yeah, the ice stupidity was understandable if disappointing but letting you spend $175 is just crazy.

I did some shit like this to my folks so I can't judge too harshly. She's wrong but that doesn't mean anything when you are a parent, right?

It sounds like she respects you but maybe fears you too. Although maybe she does not trust you as much as she should - normal.

Maybe don't be upset but make her pay back the $175. That has the long-term burn that lasts.

Just saying though, I aint got kids, just siblings.

You didn't waste $175. She wasted $175. While she's grounded, and probably for several weeks thereafter, she's going to be doing whatever odd jobs she can, until she pays you back that money.

they think everything is about "swag" and "yolo" and taking away the cellphone or computer takes away their life, back when i was a child (which really wasn't that long ago) i liked to do things like GO OUTDOORS AND EXPLORE and not do stupid shit like swallowing spoonfuls of cinnamon or doing this ice thing or even that noosing for sexual pleasure shit.... my god what is wrong with this generation

yeah, she doesn't like it when i yell at her. i don't put my hands on her, so you get yelled at. not sure if one is worse than the other. i just don't put my hands on my kids. we talk things out. but if you fuck up, i yell at you. i don't call them names or belittle them, i just raise my voice to them so they know they fucked up.

we will have a long talk about trust, again. we have it every once in a while. but in the end, she will be grounded. her laptop will be taken away. i'm sure that is where she learned about it, it where i learned about it. i am on vacation this week, she wanted me to take her to sea world on friday, not happening now. that will piss her off! but i will explain the money i wasted on the doctor could have bee spent on sea world. what else do you do to a 11 year old girl?
