Politics Trump and Wiretaps

Let's get this ball rolling. Do you believe Trump et al were wiretapped? If so, why?

There are nine people in Trump's herd with direct ties to Russia, not including Trump himself. All of them have lied about these contacts, and several of them have probably committed treason.

There was a FISA request (which was denied) to wiretap four people in the Trump Tower -- none of them Donald Trump or his staff. Trump heard about this somehow, and decided this was a good way to wag the dog: get the public focused on this "crime", and they will ignore the allegations of collusion with Russia.

The problem is, Trump is too stupid to know anything about our laws, and is unaware that the President cannot request a wiretapping.

The only evidence for this is in the RWNJ echo chamber of Breitbart, Mark Levin, and the National Review. Until something changes, I think it was just a quick, stupid way to distract from the fact that Sessions had some sketchiness with the Russians.

Wrong.

Unless you want to call the NY Times a RWNJ echo chamber. That'd be a first.

From the NY Times in Jan 2017:

One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the (Obama) White House.

That's the NY Times...

So the NY Times reported (more than once) about wiretaps into Trump et al. Are they wrong or lying?

The National Review also reported on the FISA warrants. Shuguy probably won't read this article - or any of them because, well, critical thinking is not his bag. BUt, I encourage the rest of you to read them.

Secondly, how did we get the reports of FLynn's conversations with the Russian ambassador? I'll save you some egg on your face because I feel like you're gonna say, "cause we were tapping the Russians"... Intell oversight says if you realize a USPER (US person) is part of a collection you have to stop and get a warrant to continue to collect. Did they do that? If so, under what legal authority? Regardless, leaking that conversation was/is a felony.

As much as the left, and many on the right cheered taking down LTG(R) Flynn, there are problems with it. I actually know the guy. Not "know" him like go over his house. He can be an asshole - no question about it. Many in the DIA openly revolted at his rough around the edges persona. He was a great field grade officer. As a General, meh... Not so much. At any rate, this article goes into why the methods for taking him down were not legal or "good".

Finally, I leave you with this nugget. Obama, in his last month in office, essentially opened the floodgates for Americans - not just Trump and Republicans - to be collected upon and not be given the protections that previously existed.

Cheer it on at your own peril. You won't like it when it happens in reverse - or to you.

Cool.

I mean, you're again wrong because you cling to Breitbart, but at least you wasted a lot of text saying it.

There's also the fact that TRUMP IS THE FUCKING PRESIDENT. He can request whatever he wants. Instead, he's relying on RWNJ sources to get his intelligence briefings.

Well, at least you didn't try to argue you weren't wrong. Because you are/were.

I also forgot this gem - former DNI Clapper said there were no wiretaps. So, somewhere, someone is lying.

Who is lying? NY Times? Clapper? Trump?

Only in oppositeland, where you win arguments based off of your brevity and logic.

You've not only not read what I linked to, you've shifted the goalposts. I said prior and alluded to it here that "Trump wasn't wiretapped." You've had to shift it to "Trump's associates." Yes, they were being investigated, so yes, they were under surveillance. No, there's little to no evidence of this so-called October FISA request. And no, I don't think Trump has been wiretapped. If he was, he'd be able to show evidence of it rather than pitch a fit (much like a certain Trigglet I know) on Twitter then have absolutely no one on his staff corroborate him.

Everything you're posting and claiming "lol liez" either says "Trump wasn't wiretapped" or "Trump's associates were put under surveillance due to their sketchiness." At no point do they say what you think they say, which is "Trump was wiretapped."

I'd say you should get on both knees, but since it's late, you probably already are.

So, the NY Times is wrong then? When they talk about a server at Trump Tower being wiretapped? And, how again did someone get the transcripts of Flynn speaking with the Russians? Where was Flynn when he was speaking with the Russians?

We can trade insults all day long, if you like.

But, there are some real concerns here. You can't wiretap someone "because they are sketchy". You have to have a warrant - FISA or criminal. Clapper said there were no orders... So, something is amiss here.

We can trade insults all day long, if you like.

But, there are some real concerns here. You can't wiretap someone "because they are sketchy". You have to have a warrant - FISA or criminal. Clapper said there were no orders... So, something is amiss here.

I'd say you should get on both knees, but since it's late, you probably already are.

Is Donald Trump the only person in Trump Tower? Because right now, you've become fixated on saying something that isn't there. It'd be sad if it wasn't par for the course.

I've posted links to two stories that talked about Trump's server being wiretapped. One was a NY Times story and one was a National Review story. They said it. I'm just pointing out where it was said that Trump's servers were wiretapped. This was reported in January.

And that's the main point. There were FISA requests for wiretapping in Trump Tower (which I will repeat were denied), but they weren't aimed at Donald Trump or any member of his kakistocracy. Trump believes the warrants (which were denied) targeted him specifically, because he has an ego the size of Russia. Trumpanzees believe it because Trump believes it.

No, you've posted one story from the National Review, which is already a shit source, citing the Heat, which is an even shittier source. The other story, from the NY Times, doesn't mention anything about Trump being wiretapped, but you really want it to, so you keep ignoring the "Tower" in "Trump Tower" and hoping no one will call you out on it.

Trump aka Trump Campaign aka Trump Campaign Staff

The article I just cited clears it up. As is usually the case, Trump's tweets can easily be picked apart. Was he the target? Likely not. So, when he says "Obama wiretapped me" its easy to say, first, where's your proof and secondly, no it was not you personally but rather, your campaign staff. Specially, apparently Manafort and Flynn - probably others.

I'll say it again, how did Flynn's conversations get leaked if they weren't wiretapped? It cannot be simply, "duh, they were tapping the Russians and were able to collect on Flynn, too". That's illegal without the proper warrants.

And now you're trying to change what Trump actually said. Jesus, you're sad.

Whats funny here is your trying every deflection trick in the book, to avoid the fact that the left said trump was crazy for saying he was wire tapped. Now its, well trump wasn't directly wire tapped, so were still kinda right. That is whole left's defense for once again being wrong, and once again believing their crappy news. Haven't you learned yet to not believe a thing the news says till it has been out for more than a few hours.

I didn't try to change what Trump said. He tweeted what he tweeted or said what he said. I am not defending him on that.

You don't like any source that might not agree with your world view. How predictable. I guess you don't like the NY Times either.

No source has said "Trump was wiretapped." You have spent this topic trying to weasel your way into maybe, possibly, sort of saying that, but you're failing miserably. Sigh.
