yet another reason to dislike Dell
So today I get a couple service calls for residential. I'm mostly businesses, but these are a mile from another call I am doing, so it's more of a trip economy thing for work. Two Dells, same place. Pre-scheduled for before 13:00.
I call the lady. Get her husband. He's taking her to the hospital, she is in labor, water broke. I wish him well, and tell him I will call monday to see what we will do, no worries.
Dell will have none of that. I code the call for delay, and about 20 minutes later get a call from Dell. They want me to call the lady back and tell her she can't have her baby today, she has to get back home for the service call Dell scheduled.
No seriously, this guy was pissed we "lazy american men" were actually letting some female get away with not following his schedules.
This ended up being bounced up several levels of management before anyone figured out why we were objecting to Dell's stance. Unfortunately, it was several levels in the U.S. as well as the Pakistan call center.
Words escape me for a reaction.
