I have a choke collar and chain for my wife, and other human pets.

I really don't see the big deal.

Hell, even parents put leashes on their children now a days. It is the new trend to have human pets.

Likely. What did they expect would happen. Shes on a fucking choke chain. I say, good on the bus driver, treat them as they deserve to be treated.

discrimination, because YOU don't like a persons choices is just wrong. If applied to you for whatever arbitrary reason, you'd see it more clearly.

Also the driver of the bus is not alllowed to make policy decisions. He's there to drive, period. If I understand correctly, it seems ridiculous to think the public transportation system will not be expected to provide service to the public.

edited: this driver has also refused to allow other passengers to board the bus after the couple in question had boarded.

I'd fire his crazy ass in a New York second.

Im willing to bet all these people will have as many rights in England as black people do in the US. Anybody remember Rosa Parks?

Personally I find that kind of behavior (the whole Gothe thing) disturbing but that doesn't mean I don't want them behaving that way. Unless there is a specific law against something that they were doing they have every right and the bus driver is minding some else's business.

It sounds like Lt. Dan is onto something though. It is bad enough that some people are victims of hard times or need our help (our tax dollars at work) but when these people plan their lives around living on the dole and intend to let the tax payers take care of them and their families for their entire lives I have a problem. We are just, in the last few years, getting rid of the "welfare moms" who drop a baby every 9 months just so they can get a bigger check.

And, does discrimination really apply to a person who chooses to walk around on a choke chain? Or, to someone who chooses to walk around with someone on a choke chain? Its not exactly as if they were born this way. They made a choice to walk around like that, let them deal with the consequences. Whatever those may be.

My understanding is council Homes are what North Americans call Social Housing. Benefits I am also sure is welfare. Knowing enough about Canada's system to choke a horse I never judge people on Welfare or Disability by what I see. They could have any of a hundred conditions that you can not see that make them unemployable.

Could Paris Hilton take her "puppy in a purse" on the bus? If yes, then this couple should be able to ride on the bus, too, and have a fair claim at discrimination. If no, then... well... she is a self-proclaimed "pet", she should be prepared to be treated like one or reconsider her lifestyle choice.

last time I checked Paris Hilton didnt ride no bus. Puppy or no. If she considers herself his pet, then thats her "bizarre" choice. Not to be confused with being an actual animal.

Reconsider your lifestyle choice or you cant ride the public bus is as blatant a discrimination as Ive ever heard. Are you sure you meant that?

I would never have expected you to support treating people like animals.

Why do you automatically choose definition one? Why not number three "a thing particularly cherished", Which is also the definition of pet and does NOT imply animal at all.

Most people on this forum are probably already aware that my relationship is a Dominant/submissive relationship. While we're not goth, and we're not blatantly visibly D/s to look at like they are... I do wear a collar that was given to me by him... And he does call me his pet when I'm in more cuddly and affectionate moods.

Being called a pet, or being referred to as a pet in no way makes you less of a human, or deserving of discrimination. That is THEIR choice, and in their relationship that is how they show their affection. I don't know about them personally of course, but I do talk to a lot of poeple in the D/s community, and I have NEVER seen a Dom refer to their sub as a pet in any light other than affection. To a Dom, their submissive is "a thing particularly cherished", no less so than a vanilla couple feels about eachother.

I am absolutely shocked by the responses of a lot of people here.
