This may end up being a thread that gets moved to the MD section but since it's entertainment first I'll try it here.

I was aware of this show starting and the very positive reviews and recommendations that it was receiving however I had not yet watched it.

I added it to a must watch when I stumbled upon the video that I posted in the "truth about america" thread in MD. As I said there I was impressed by what was demonstrated and I saw it as neither a left or right thing, but a quest for truth thing.

Sure this is entertainment and bias will be part of it but that's part of everything. Being an intelligent human being and not simply and ingnorant simpleton means taking in everything and trying to figure it out yourself.

Ultimately I believe this is a great program both for entertainment purposes and a call for change in the way society works. The main idea being that news is not supposed to be about what will entertain us the most but rather what is most important for the majority to know.

Spoilers for those who have not seen the show at all yet. But nothing major if you just aren't fully caught up.

click to showSome have criticized the fact that the stories take place in the past and that hindsight will always let you spin it the way that is most popular. While I don't disagree with that, I do believe the ultimate messages can be taken for today and the future. Afterall, that's the whole point of history. You're supposed to learn from mistakes.

None of this was more powerful than in the most recent episode. The idea that news should not be about who gets the scoop first but rather who gets it right. We've experienced this far to often where in the hurry to get the scoop, the truth is thrown out the window. Most recently with the reporting of the supreme court's decision on the health care situation.

I also routinely experience it on Facebook. Where someone reports something that isn't true. Most harmful when it comes to the loss of life. And when our news programs are as reliable as Facebook, we have a major problem.


So I hope people will tune into this show and enjoy the entertainment factor as well as maybe take away some of the broader messages that are trying to be delivered.

With only 4 episodes so far I can't fully hold it to a style but I do hope they call out a few more lefties for being just as ridiculous and fucking stupid as they have with the righties, since both are equally full of shit.

Without a doubt the smartest, most entertaining show that is on TV right now. Each episode is a gem!

It is an excellent show. It is also shows that left or right wing people who have intelligence should at the least agree on the facts. But then again data can be twisted to prove any point. But on point the show is great

So last night was the season finale of this great show and it was a great wrap up to the season on pretty much all fronts.

This is a show that I really wish more people would watch (Granted I first became aware of it because of the opening scene being posted on youtube. So at least it has that going for it). The news sections are often spot on and deliver messages that are important now.

Mostly about how extreme politics have become on a whole and how the people who are running are fucking insane or are pathological liars.

Did anyone else watch it and have anything to say?
