That's not my Mrs. That's one of the handlers at the wildlife park. And that's the cougar cub. The bobkitty is a little smaller than that.

You know that thing cats do when they expose their belly for rubs and then clamp down on your hand like a bear trap?

I'd hate for that kitty's paws to do that to me.

There were a couple of young lions there, brother and sister. You should have seen those two playing

I just saw a documentary called "The Elephant in the Living Room" about owners of "exotic" pets. They gave a lot of attention to a guy who owned two lions. It was not a happy story.

They discussed places like the big cat sanctuary in Oregon who get a lot of animals from owners who get in over their heads.

Gah, I'm just glad they finally ended the debate over whether to use the brown-red paint or the milky white they had been using for years. They finally realized it wasn't the deepest coat of paint because it was the original color of the lighthouse, but because it was primer for the white. These days I'm living in Coos Bay, so I guess I've moved up in the world? I'll always love living near the Pacific, though.

No. We ended up not going that far north, and I never got in touch with him before we left.(I wanted to make sure he would be there)

Nice pics, solitude amidst sanctuary.

Funny story about bobcats a friend's girlfriend had one as a pet cat she thought it was just a big cat. They found it as a cub and took it in.. Maybe they knew it was and were lying.. when I saw it I knew right away and she said they had no idea it was a bobcat.. it was huge, they named it tinkerbell..
