Their IPO came way too late.
Right now, it has become "cool" to not have a Facebook account, presumably because people are starting to see the problems it causes in their real lives.

How many stories have you read about people getting fired because of something that appeared on their Facebook page?

my $26.88 is looking pretty good right about now. needs to fall about another 80c in the next 5 hours to get there.

I would estimate it to be about a $17-20 stock and that would but the PE at about 40 or so, which is still high, considering apple is 13.86, microsoft is 10.42, oracle is 13.69 and google is 17.24.

and even that kind of an evaluation would still imply that shareholders expect facebook to come up with some kind of a new breakthrough/strategy when it comes to monetizing its users. growth alone isn't gonna cut it as they already have nearly 1 billion people signed up, and those 1 billion are from the "most valuable" countries. so if over time it becomes apparent that nothing like this is coming, you can expect the shares to slide down even further.

Personal opinion: fb stock isn't really worth more than $15ish.

Interesting idea: Apple has the cash, and never could get their own social network going...

why would it be valued at 15...

it's a company selling ad-space on the internet.
since its already got a billion users its unlikely it will get anymore(as this already accounts for most everyone who has access to a comp).

they still dont make much money.

there does not seem to be much chance they will make great profits with the business model they have now.

if they take the money they just got,and use it to start some new business which has a way of making money,than the shares may become worth something,
otherwise:
I think a share price closer to 2.0 may be more sustainable

what I dont understand is,how could people buy shares of this company,.....
