When did you have to be a tee-total celibate to become a member of the Secret Service?
As long as you're doing your job properly, what you do in your off hours is personal choice.

Were these people supposed to stay on duty 24/7 while arranging security for an upcoming visit? A bit hard I think, as the locals with whom they have to co-ordinate would only work standard hours.

Perchance they were supposed to retire to their rooms and just stand there like little robots when they were not actually working.

Hookers might have seen sensitive documents that were left lying around?
Fat chance. They may have wanted a little bit of fun, but no-one who has made it into the Secret Service is going to be stupid enough to leave sensitive material around. They're not politicians. They're security.

Besides the fact that they should represent the US properly, like our soldiers. According to reports, they openly bragged about being Secret Service to some of the whores. There is a reason the word "secret" is in their job description. In a foreign country, mixing it up with whores, telling them they are Secret Service. Not a smart move.

People in other countries generally see 3 types of Americans. Military, tourists, and politicians. Most of these people (not all) think their shit don't stink and that people in other countries aren't on the same level as themselves. They will brag how good they are and are arrogant to the point of total stupidity.

I was in the military and have been a tourist. I always figured I could learn from almost anyone I met in another country. I enjoyed my stays in other countries and the people I met. Most other countries have knowledge of English language but it depends on how you come across as to whether they will communicate w/ you.

I can see where the secret service people and military figured they could get away w/ doing what they did. I think that its been something that has gone on for along time and that knowledge of it goes up to the highest person. Those being fired or resigning are the scapegoats so that it can be done w/ and forgotten.

Arrogance breeds stupidity or visa versa.

It would be so easy to blackmail married agents and to take out the rest. It was stupid, plain and simple.

Well said. Their job is to protect the President and other VIPs. That doesn't include sampling the local talent at the risk of opening yourself up to a security leak.
