i liked "Safe House" also but thought that Washington was playing on the same {basically} character he`s played in other movies. i did enjoy it though.

Just a heads up that I'll likely have a The Dark Knight Rises review up sometime Sunday or Monday.

I have a football game to play Saturday night and I really hate people too much to go the friday. I may end up even taking longer just because I hate crowds that much.

If they could just behave properly, it would be fine but I always seem to have a few that just can't shut the fuck up or keep their phones away.

"TheDark Knight Rises" reviews have so far, been mixed.

The brief plot synopsis is: Batman vs. Wall St.

Catwoman is basically an embodiment of the Occupy movement, and the plot is not very well constructed as it meanders about.

Expect some brilliant technique and special effects like with the previous films, but so far, reviewers are saying Anne Hathaway is the best part of the movie, and that is not encouraging news.

However it's Christopher Nolan, the same guy who made Memento and Following, so it won't suck.

For me, it's a "wait for Netflix streaming" film.

I rarely listen to critics. The basic use for me, is on movies I've never really heard about before but sound interesting.

Most are being paid to report a certain way, whether they admit it or not.

I'm giving my opinion on the movies. I'm not being paid for it or have to make sure I don't offend anyone.

Asshats like Ebert are what I'm talking about. They will pan one movie for being utter junk but then give another movie very similar in style and crappiness a thumbs up and pass because "he just liked it".

These hollywood critics are usually wrong about movies. That's why when I want to hear what the reviews are, I'd rather hear it from normal people who've watched it. Usually when I'm unsure about a movie, I'll go on FB and go to the movie site to see what people think about it.

Battleship; was awesome

Safe house; was decent

Spiderman; I loved it

Ted; never wanted it to end, wasn't as funny as i expected just kewl as all get out

Surpriser movie Abraham Vampire Hunter; -- absolutely great

Snow white; really awesome

brave; shallow

The Dictator; entertainment for cable

Dark Shadows; was really good

Thats my boy; funny sortof hard to explain--- adam sandler--Van/ice everyone nail roles

Prometheus; slow but entertainingly good

MIB3: suxxed but entertaining

Pirahna 3d; surprising scenes gross, entertaining sortof

Superman and the Elite: pretty good

Madea: cable watch on a slow day

Ice Age: horrible

"The Billionaire", subtitle asian movie -- 10 stars absolutely great a must see

Thor:

Fun film. Great special effects. Entertaining storyline.

Marvel Comics movie guys have really hit their stride with their big screen adaptations. Hardcore fanboys will always find inconsistencies between the comic storyline and the films but if you can let that go, this recent series of Avengers character movies is hitting the mark like never before.

This film depicts the inner workings of Asgard, Thor's banishment to Earth, his comical struggles as a stranger in a strange land and his personal quest for redemption.

Strong performances from both Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman make this a film that is just a fun to watch. In addition it provides a great segue into this films runaway hit The Avengers.

I give it 4 out of 5.

While not a perfect movie, it is the perfect movie to end this trilogy and finally beat the trilogy curse (asshole shooting sprees aside).

This movie was clearly made by someone who is a fan first and had a true idea of what they wanted to make this franchise be. Nolan has proven consistently that he can make a movie that feels real and appeal to a wide audience but still truly be made for the die hard fans as well.

The story is action packed and the characters well written. Timing and pacing is done well and like Whedon did with the avengers, Nolan knows how to use a large cast well.

Bane is finally given the props he deserves as a character. While the look is different, his story and personality are true to form. He is not merely a powerhouse goon, but the intelligent, methodical leader that is meant to challenge Batman not just in strength but in mind and will as well. It took a little bit to get used to the voice (due to both the accent Hardy chose as well as the level it was dubbed at to be clearer) but it ultimately works. Hardy is great at using his eyes and he does exude the confidence that someone like Bane would surely have.

Hathaway is great a Selina Kyle. She was perfect at switching from a meek looking girl to the sexy, confident woman. Really, you just have to see her, to understand why her "catwoman" works and why I felt like everything she did made sense.

Nolan weaves a story that is both an action epic and a hearfelt drama. You learn what motivates these characters and it really is a war to end all wars. Nods to the source are everywhere and there's even a cameo that caught me completely off guard.

We finally have a trilogy worthy of it's name and a story that I am sad to see end.

The following review points are spoiler to the movie, so stop reading if you haven't seen the movie.

click to showOne of my biggest appreciations of the movie was the handling of Robin. Nolan had said he would never put the "true" character in his movies but the build up to and ending of this movie was absolutely perfect. I could clearly picture Joseph Gordon Levitt's character as an older not campy version of Robin. Or even better Nightwing. His overall story and decisions were written extremely well.

I had actually forgotten about Cotillard's true character so the reveal was very satisfying to me. I enjoyed the relationship to Bane and it made the characters a bit more 3 dimensional.

The inclusion of Holly as Selina's young friend was a great nod to that storyline in the comics as was many of Bane's catchphrases and actions.

And the ending was just a great decision, wrapping up the main story but leaving that dream open for the fans of just where things might go.

I wrote a new superhero from his 1st write which was awe-inspiring and I consider one of the best action fliks in history to that date..

Not a lot since this is kind of a shitty time for good movies. Thinking of going to see Dredd and will probably try to see the movie Safe when it comes out on blu ray. Otherwise it looks like a pretty shitty year for movies till next summer's blockbuster season.

But who knows. I generally just stumble onto some of the better movies out there.

yeah...i plan to see Ole` Judge Dredd. see if they can do it better

I actually didn't mind the first one but I was also 10 when it came out and had never read any of the comics so I had no set ideas of what it had to be.

I did just see a preview for a movie I'm definitely going to see and that's Looper. Looks sweet and I've heard some good things about it.

Dredd 3D

This is what comic book based movies should be. A relatively faithful adaptation to the mood, feeling and characters of the comic.

Dredd is a great action movie on its own. It is well paced, actually has a simple but involving plot and is just plain fun. It is uber violent but only in playing true to the source material and not just being violent for violent's sake. Costumes, sets, and actors are all fantastic.

Carl Urban is a great Dredd. Confident, calm, calculated. And the best part, he never takes off his helmet. Something that I wish more movies and actors would embrace. When I first heard the casting I was happy only because I could tell Urban actually enjoys these types of characters and embraces the sci fi, comic type world. His appearences in Riddick, and Doom show that. His willingness to not show the majority of his face and stay true to the character is what makes it great.

Where the most recent Batman trilogy thrived due to its masterful weaving of real world and comics; the mythology and modern takes, Dredd thrives because it sticks to the comic world more like Sin City.

Fans of the comic should not be disappointed as well as those who have a general idea of the source. I think it might be a little less impressive to the unaware viewers.

This movie also showed just how much better movies shot in 3D are than those who simply are converted. The 3D is excellent and creates a great depth to the tower that the movie takes place in. There are several great slow motion shots in this movie that take advantage of and make the 3d great.

This movie was rated 18a in Canada meaning adult accompany for anyone under 18. I'm so happy that it hit this rating and makes me hope that it has a successful run to try and show that an adult movie can make money when you actually stick with the source material.

This movie is what Wolverine origins should have been and what Deadpool HAS to be if it ever gets made.

Your core comics like batman, superman, spiderman and avengers are your pg 13 movies. Dredd is your R movie. Dredd is not violent because he's a sadist. Dredd is violent because he exists in a world that is brutal and clinging to life.

Agree that this was a good movie; however, if you want to see Reynolds in a great role, check out "Waiting". You'll bust a nut laughing at this guy... he's hilarious!
