Warning to New Players
Let me make a few points abundantly clear before anyone considers signing-up for a game.
First, Werewolf Games can last anywhere from a few days to a FULL WEEK or LONGER. This is dependent on what transpires in the game and the number of players in the game.
Second, If you are not able to make the time to play each and every day, DON'T SIGN-UP. Players need to be able to play and ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE EACH and EVERY DAY.

What is the Werewolf Game?
The Werewolf Game is an interactive game of deduction for basically two teams, Villagers and Werewolves. The Villagers don't know who the Werewolves are and the Werewolves, hidden among the Villagers, are trying to remain undiscovered while they slowly kill off the Villagers one at a time. The Villagers win the game when all of the Werewolves have been killed. The Werewolves win the game when they reach parity with the Villagers. Advanced games have multiple teams, each with their own agenda and conditions needed in order to win the game. The Werewolf Game has many names including Mafia, Miller's Hollow, New Moon, and Ultimate Werewolf. Although the names of the roles may vary from one game to the next, the roles are basically the same. The only exceptions are roles that require some adaptation in order to be played in a forum environment.

Basic Game.
The Werewolf Game takes place over a series of days divided into two 12 hour periods, Day Round and Night Round. During the Day Round, all players (including the hidden Werewolves) work together to determine who among them is a Werewolf and vote to lynch them. Obviously the Werewolves are not trying to lynch themselves during the Day Round, but trying to lynch members of the Villager Team. The Werewolf Game requires some players to mislead, lie, and/or deceive other players in order to win. Each Night Round, the Werewolves chose to kill a player and the Seer is allowed to "Peek" a player to see if that player is a Werewolf or not. Advanced games can have multiple Seers, each assigned by the game's Moderator, a Night Round for which they can "Peek" a players role.

Apprentice Seer
APPRENTICE SEER - The Apprentice Seer must "Peek" a player two (2) times before knowing a players true role in the game. Once the last remaining Seer in the game is killed, the Apprentice Seer will become a Seer and will only need to "Peek" once to identify a player's true role. The Apprentice Seer's objective in the game is the same as the Seer's, "Peek" other players and work with the Villagers to find and kill the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, and Vampire. The Apprentice Seer must be extremely careful who they reveal their true role to in the game since telling the wrong person would surely mean a quick and horrible death. The Apprentice Seer does not know anyone's role at the start of the game.
STRATEGY - The Apprentice Seer's strategy is identical to the Seer's.
WIN CONDITION - The Apprentice Seer wins with the Villager Team. The Villager Team wins the game when all of the following roles (if used) are dead: Blob, Bloody Mary (if lynched or killed by any Villager Team role), Bogeyman, Chupacabra, Count Dracula, Cursed (if transformed into a Werewolf), Doppelganger (if transformed into any of the roles listed here), Dream Wolf, Lone Wolf, Pied Piper, Sasquatch (if on the Werewolf Team), Teenage Wolf, Vampire, Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Wolf Man, and Zombie.

Aura Seer
AURA SEER - The Aura Seer is not a full fledged Seer and is only able to "Peek" a player to find out if that player has a special ability or not. If the Aura Seer "Peeks" a player with a special ability, the Aura Seer is only informed that the player has a special ability and nothing more. The Aura Seer is not informed of the players specific role or what team the player is on. For all other player roles, the Aura Seer is only informed that the "Peeked" player does not have a special ability. This role is only intended for games that have at least one Dark Seer.
STRATEGY - The Aura Seer strategy is much like the Seer's with the exception that the Aura Seer is only able to find players with special abilities. The Aura Seer must be careful when revealing his/her role to a "Peeked" player with a special ability because there is no telling if the player is on the Villager Team. This role becomes more powerful in games that have a lot of roles with special abilities.

Diseased
DISEASED - The Diseased player is a Villager. If the Diseased player is killed by the Werewolves or Wolf Cub during the Night Round, the Werewolves and Wolf Cub will become too sick from eating the Diseased player that they will be too ill to kill the following Night Round. If the Diseased Player is killed by the Lone Wolf, the Lone Wolf only will become too sick to kill the following Night Round. The Diseased player has no effect on the Vampire, Witch, and Magician.
STRATEGY - The Diseased players strategy is simple, get killed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, or Lone Wolf. The Diseased player may want to portray themselves as a player with a special ability to attract the attention of the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, or Lone Wolf, but do not be too obvious or you might scare the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, or Lone Wolf away. The Diseased player must do everything they can to prevent themselves from being lynched by the Villagers and thus spoiling the Diseased players opportunity to prevent a killing of a Villager.
WIN CONDITION - The Diseased wins with the Villager Team.

Guardian (aka Bodyguard)
GUARDIAN - The Guardian can physically protect a single player or himself during each and every Night Round from being killed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Witch, and Magician. The Guardian cannot protect the same player two (2) nights in a row. The Guardian can protect himself/herself one night and the next night, he/she has to protect someone else. The Guardian's protection lasts for the duration of the Night Round. The Guardian can be killed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Witch, and Magician if the Guardian is not protecting themselves during the Night Round. The Guardian, having no protection during the day, can be killed by the Villagers during the Day Round voting. The Guardian's mission is to protect the Villagers and the Seer(s) from the being killed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, and Vampire. The Guardian does not know any players role and the protection he/she offers is done so blindly.
STRATEGY - The Guardian must first try to protect those that he believes may be on the Villager Team, preferably a Seer. This is no easy task, considering the Guardian has no idea who is a Werewolf or not. So his/her protection is done so blindly. The Guardian can only hope that the Seer "Peeks" him/her at some point in the game. It would be an ideal combination to have both the Seer and the Guardian working together. The Guardian could then protect the Seer from the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Witch, and Magician on the Night Rounds the Seer "Peeks" players. This way the Seer can "Peek" as many players as possible without fear of being killed. Now if the Seer never "Peeks" the Guardian, the Guardian like all of the other Villagers, will have to vote to kill those he believes are Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, and Vampire during the Day Round and to blindly protect those he believes are on the Villager Team during the Night Round.
MODERATOR'S NOTE - If the Guardian is protecting the player who is victim of the Werewolves and the Wolf Cub and that player already has a means of protection (Magician, Priest, Witch, and/or Amulet of Protection), ALL MEANS OF PROTECTION ARE CONSIDERED USED!! (See also the roles of the Magician, Priest, Witch, and the Amulet of Protection).
Example: A Villager has the Amulet of Protection and is the intended victim of the Werewolves. That same Night Round, the Guardian protects the victim of the Werewolves. Both the Amulet of Protection and the Guardian's protection are considered used.
|
WIN CONDITION - The Guardian wins with the Villager Team.

Hunter
HUNTER - The Hunter looks and acts like an ordinary Villager except in one respect, the Hunter can kill one of his/her attackers upon his/her death. If the Hunter is killed by the Villagers during the Day Round voting, the Hunter has 15 minutes to PM the game host or post in the game thread the name of the player the Hunter wants to kill or that the Hunter intends not to kill a player. If the Hunter does not name a player to kill within the 15 minutes provided, one of the surviving players that voted for the Hunter's lynching is chosen randomly by the game host and killed. If the Hunter is killed by a Werewolf or Wolf Cub during the Night Round, one of the Werewolves is randomly chosen by the game host and killed. All Werewolves and the Wolf Cub is considered in the random selection process. If the Hunter is killed by either the Lone Wolf, Witch, or Magician during the Night Round, the respective player who killed the Hunter is also killed. The Hunter cannot kill the Vampire.
STRATEGY - The Hunter has to keep his role a secret and blend in with the other Villagers. Since the Hunter is part of the Villager Team and has the unique ability to kill one of his attackers, the Hunter must use this ability to help the Villager Team win. To do that, the Hunter must do whatever it takes to prevent the Villagers from lynching him during the Day Round voting and hope that the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, or Lone Wolf kill him during the Night Round. This way, the Hunter kills a Werewolf upon his death rather than a Villager. An easy way to accomplish this is to make a subtle hint that you have a special role.
MODERATOR'S NOTE 1 - If the Hunter and a single Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, or Vampire are the last two remaining players, the game ends in a tie between the Villagers and the other respective team.
WIN CONDITION - The Hunter wins with the Villager Team.

Idiot
IDIOT - The Idiot is a Villager. When the Idiot is lynched by the Villagers, the game Moderator will immediately reveal the condemned player as the Idiot. The Villagers seeing their error, will immediately pardon the Idiot from death, however the Idiot can no longer vote in the Villager voting for the remainder of the game. The Idiot can still converse with other players. If the Idiot is killed during the Night Round by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Witch, or Magician, the Idiot simply dies and is removed from the game.
STRATEGY - If the Idiot believes that a Villager is going to be lynched, the Idiot may want to "Accidentally" let slip that the Idiot is a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, or Prostitute, thus drawing the attention and hopefully the votes to himself/herself. The Idiot has to be confident that the player he/she is possibly saving from the gallows is on the Villager Team. For the Idiot to save a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, or Prostitute from lynching would be something only an Idiot would do.
WIN CONDITION - The Idiot wins with the Villager Team.

Lycan
LYCAN - The Lycan is a Villager that has a dormant strain of Werewolfism. When the Lycan is "Peeked" by a Seer or Dark Seer, the Lycan will be revealed as a Werewolf even though the Lycan is not a Werewolf and is on the Villager Team.
STRATEGY - Since the Lycan will be revealed as a Werewolf when "Peeked", it is likely that the life span of the Lycan will be short. It is up to the Lycan to do their best and convince the Villagers of their role. The Lycan's only benefit to the Villager Team is if the Lycan is "Peeked" by the Dark Seer. Once "Peeked" and contacted by the Dark Seer, the Lycan can immediately declare to the Villagers the identity of the Dark Seer.
WIN CONDITION - The Lycan wins with the Villager Team.

Magician
MAGICIAN - The Magician has two (2) magical spells, Healing and Death. The Magician can only use his/her spells during the Night Round to save the intended victim of the Werewolves and Wolf Cub, kill a player of his/her choosing, or both. The Magician's Healing spell cannot save the victim of the Vampire, the player killed by the Lone Wolf, or the player killed by the Witch. The Magician cannot use the Healing spell on himself/herself. Each Night Round, the game's Moderator should ask the Magician if he/she would want to use either or both of the Magician's spells. If the Magician uses his/her Healing spell to save the victim of the Werewolves and the Wolf Cub, the Magician will not be informed of the victim's identity or what role the victim may have. The resurrected victim will retain any special abilities and/or special powers. If the Magician chooses to use his/her Death spell, the Magician's intended victim is killed.
STRATEGY - The Magician must decide when the best time will be to use his/her spells, but the Magician cannot wait too long or he/she risks being killed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Witch, and/or Villagers. Since the Magician is on the Villager Team, it is best for the Magician to use the Death spell only on those players suspected to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, or Pied Piper.
MODERATOR'S NOTE - If the Magician uses the Healing Spell to save the player who is victim of the Werewolves and the Wolf Cub and that player already has a means of protection (Guardian, Priest, Witch, and/or Amulet of Protection), ALL MEANS OF PROTECTION ARE CONSIDERED USED!! (See also the roles of the Guardian, Priest, Witch, and the Amulet of Protection).
Example: A Villager has the Amulet of Protection and is the intended victim of the Werewolves. That same Night Round, the Magician uses his/her Healing spell to save the victim of the Werewolves. Both the Amulet of Protection and the Magician's Healing spell are considered used.

WIN CONDITION - The Magician wins with the Villager Team.

Martyr
MARTYR - The Martyr is a Villager who may take the place of anyone who is about to be lynched in the Villager Voting. The game's Moderator should ask the Martyr if they wish to sacrifice themselves to save the player that is moments from death. The player who is the Martyr just needs to reply to the game's Moderator via private message. If the Martyr wishes to take the place of the player being lynched, the Martyr will be killed and his/her role revealed. The role of the player saved by the Martyr will not be revealed.
STRATEGY - The Martyr is best played by sacrificing yourself to save another. Just be sure the player you are saving from the gallows is worthy of your sacrifice.
WIN CONDITION - The Martyr wins with the Villager Team.

Mason
MASON - The Masons are a secret society within the Villager Team. No player may directly or indirectly speak of the Masons or their secret society. In order to maintain their secrecy, the Masons are allowed to kill one (1) player per Night Round that has spoken or alluded to the Masons and/or their secret society. It is up to the players who are Masons and the game's Moderator to determine if any other player's post alludes or hints at the Masons and their secret society. The Masons cannot reveal their role as a "Mason" to any other player by any means, doing so will result in the immediate death the of the Mason. All players who are Masons are known to each other from the start of the game.
STRATEGY - The Masons strategy is the same as the Villager's, find other Villagers and work together in the Villager voting to kill those suspected to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper. The advantage that the Masons have is knowing all the other Masons from the beginning of the game. This knowledge gives the Masons a bit of leverage in the Villager voting.
MODERATOR'S NOTE - If the Masons role is used in a game, the minimum number of players to be assigned as Masons is two (2). Inform all players who are Masons the identities of the other Masons. Also, be prepared to enforce the killings of players who have violated the Masons secrecy. If a player's post is questionable, please contact the Game Moderator. The Game Moderator can in turn contact a Werewolf Forum Moderator (Bfett1326, randy1985, or Tim the Tool Man) for advice or a final ruling.
WIN CONDITION - The Mason wins with the Villager Team.

Mayor
MAYOR - The Mayor is a Villager whose vote during the Villager voting will count as two (2) votes. This does not mean the Mayor has two (2) votes, the Mayor has one (1) vote that counts as two (2). The Mayor cannot split his/her vote to two (2) separate players. The Mayor can only vote for one (1) player, in which case, his/her vote will be counted as two (2) votes against that player. The Mayor role is similar to the Sheriff role.
STRATEGY - The Mayor's strategy is the same as the Villager's, find other Villagers and work together in the Villager voting to kill those suspected to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper. Since the Mayor's vote counts as two (2) votes, the Mayor may very well be the deciding vote in determining who lives and who dies. The Mayor should use his/her vote wisely and only vote for those players who are possibly a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper.
MODERATOR'S NOTE - This role can be used in one of two ways. [1] As a single role given to a player or [2] As additional role for a player elected to be Mayor. In this case, all players will vote to elect a Mayor prior to the first Werewolf kill. If the Mayor is killed, a new Mayor will need to be elected.
WIN CONDITION 1 - The Mayor if played as a single role by a player wins with the Villager Team.
WIN CONDITION 2 - The Mayor if played as an additional role where a player is elected as Mayor, the Mayor wins with the team of their true role.

Old Hag
OLD HAG - The Old Hag is a Villager that can place a Hex on a single player each and every Night Round. The player that has been Hexed, cannot vote in the Villager voting in the following Day Round. The Hex will last for only one (1) Day Round. Although the player who is Hexed cannot vote, they still can communicate with all other players.
STRATEGY - The Old Hag should only Hex those players that he/she believes to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper. Doing so makes it slightly harder for the Werewolf Team to control or lead the Villager voting. The Old Hag is a Villager and should also follow the same basic Villager strategy, find other Villagers and work together in the Villager voting to kill those suspected to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper.
MODERATOR'S NOTE - The game's Moderator, may or may not inform players of their "Hexed" status. Not telling the players of their "Hexed" status could add another dimension to the game. If the game's Moderator decides not to inform player's of their "Hexed" status, the game's Moderator should count all player's votes until the end of Villager voting, at which time, the "Hexed" player's vote can be deducted from the final vote count.
WIN CONDITION - The Old Hag wins with the Villager Team.

Old Man
OLD MAN - The Old Man is a Villager that will die of natural causes during a randomly determined Night Round by the game's Moderator. The Night Round the Old Man dies can be determined by rolling one (1) six-sided die. The death of the Old Man will be in addition to any other kills performed by the Werewolves, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Hunter, Magician, and/or Witch. The game's Moderator will not inform the player who is the Old Man when they will die.
STRATEGY - The Old Man's strategy is the same as the Villager's, find other Villagers and work together in the Villager voting to kill those suspected to be a Werewolf, Wolf Cub, Lone Wolf, Vampire, Dark Seer, Minion, Prostitute, and/or Pied Piper. The player who is the Old Man should live each day as if it's his/her last. Do not keep your opinions to yourself. Say what you think while you still can.
WIN CONDITION - The Old Man wins with the Villager Team.
