1st pay no mind to Ovech most don't 
2nd To add a signature go into your user control panel and click Edit Signature
Put what ever you want in there as long as you don't go to extreme/Big
and if you do put it in a spoiler

i removed light blue's ability to have a signature because of all the bots it use to attract (they would register lots of accounts with links in their signature as a way to spam users/search engines).
like ruff said, you'll be auto-upgraded to dark blue fairly soon (being here for a month is one of the per-requisitives).
