It is just that your argument above, if it is valid, would also apply to the bodies and birth of fetuses/babies.

There are just some decisions better left to parents.

Children can just hate their parents later in life.

i think this argument could be made on any type of medical procedure. infant to elderly. bad things happen from time to time everyone is human and will make a mistake(especially young or poorly trained docs). i think this topic will do nothing but go round and round both ways. didnt the MD open back up? id say make the best of what you got and decide what you wish for your own kids. (with out pressuring others to your ways) #1 reason i do not follow religion or politics cant no one make a concrete statement about any part of any of it.

Actually, the American Academy of Pediatrics maintained a neutral stance on the issue for the longest time.
They took their time before changing it, then changed it just slightly. (It's not even an all-out support for circumcision.)
