I can't recall a spot where it does.
Also- many of those who helped create and pass the act have come out saying that it needs to be done away with.

I was not deflecting.
I stated no laws from religion (paraphrasing), you highlighted it and responded with the DOMA retort.
Therefor, I asked you to cite the passages from DOMA that cite religion as the source for this "Defense" of marriage.
Pretty straightforward.

[quote=infantrystud]Ok... So she's not allowed to go eat at Chik-Fil-A nor have an opinion on gay marriage. And if she does, then she's stupid. Cool. Thanks. I'm glad we cleared that up.
And, the conservatives are the party that hates women. Awesome logic!
IS the argument as I see it is one of two things. Either she ate here and tweeted about it like so many other R's did because she was against gay marriage or she just was making a free speech statement. Which do you think is more likely?

Sarah Palin is an idiot. You see this from the interviews, her "foreign policy" experience (even if planes flying over Alaska was foreign policy experience, the populated parts of Russia where most of the important planes are coming from would just fly over the Atlantic to go to DC as it's much closer) the newspapers she reads (couldn't even name the New York Times?) He knowledge of history (didn't pay attention when they talked about Paul Revere it seems). And of course her science skills could use some brushing up, there may be a large group of idiots in the country who think it is, but the Bible is not an accurate document when it comes to science...
...Or well, History... or, well really much of anything. Palin is an idiot. That being said, it is still totally tacky for the news to be name calling. Just stating facts should make most people reach the trivially obvious conclusion that she's an idiot. Name calling looks unprofessional, wastes the time of the viewers and gives people an excuse to dismiss facts that, despite poor presentation, are still facts.

Most of us at this point have gathered that the media is pretty biased for one side or another. While large amounts of bias is incredibly annoying and rather unprofessional, the facts presented don't suddenly become not true. If I say "Obama is a cunt who is president" then part of that statement is useless bias, but the fact that he is president is still a fact. That should be pretty easy to follow.
So the problem isn't really the bias, while it's incredibly annoying. The reason you can't really compare the two sides is because one side much more frequently decides it can conjure facts out of thin air. False statistics, blatant lies, etc. Fox News does this a lot more often than any of the obnoxiously liberal sources.

Why can't both be true. Is she not entitled to an opinion? Do only liberal women with liberal ideas get to have opinions?
Nobody forces the media to cover her tweets.
I'm a little confused here.

Actually, no. I addressed the point of CNN and was replying to someone else's comment. bias and name calling are, unfortunately, a given in today's news media. Both the liberal and conservative sides are doing it. I was replying to that liberals don't hold themselves to the same standards. There is hypocrisy with the name calling, but you sort of expect that on both sides. But name calling and then straight up making up "facts" are hugely different.
Fox News is known for being conservative, which is not really a problem in my eyes, I don't care if a news station is biased towards Nazism as long as they give me facts along with their propaganda spewing. That's not the issue. The issue is when the News decides to deliberately lie, make up statistics, that sort of thing. People will always be quick to say "Well but the liberal media is just as biased." And it's true, but it's a strawman because that's not the issue. There is not a double standard on this particular issue. Fox news is notorious for making up "facts" the mainstream liberal news sources are not, so it's completely ridiculous to say they are both guilty of the same thing or on the same level.
