I have nothing against Windows Movie Maker - it's a great program. It just doesn't fit some purposes. Let's say I had 1 file that was 30 MB that I didn't want to alter in any way. I want someone to see it the way it was made - or intended - not just movie clips.

The best way to go would be to use HJSplit since it is a self-executable file, and can split any file type.

I guess the best thing to ask is whether you wanted a cheap program, free program or buy a program. I know it sounds wierd to ask - but I am a video editing freak - I like to do it right, and use Adobe Premiere Pro. A free program that I have heard raves about is VirtualDub. Check that out if you want, but be sure to let us know how it works for you!
