Or so Sweden would have you believe. What happens is a few clients are deterred but it's usually the ones who were reliable and safe. The abusive clients generally aren't deterred, and the prostitutes end up having to take bookings from them (because there is less choice of clients the prostitute can't afford to be too picky) as well as lowering prices and engaging in more extreme acts she wouldn't do otherwise to get the business.

Laws won't prevent prostitutes getting assaulted or murdered either IMO. It's basic common sense- if a man doesn't care about the consquences of murder he isn't exactly going to be deterred by a law against prostitution.

I think legislation and regulation is the best solution. If it's going to happen anyway better to have it where the police can keep an eye on them.

So a streetwalker gets beaten up by her pimp and someone acts the Good Samaritan and tries to bring her to a hospital.
Every cab then refuses to let them get a ride because they fear that they'd be prosecuted.

I understand the reasonaing behind it, but the law is probably poorly executed.

Since PhD is dressed like a tranny (would that still be a costume or a uniform?), every cabbie refuses him a ride.
That would be unfair because, as we all know, it (the party) ain't gonna be over till the fat lady sings

I'll tell you what will happen, a young woman who isn't a prostitute will fall victim to a violent crime because she can't get a cab and shit will hit the fan.
