Mustane is a fuckwit. Always has been.
No wonder Metallica couldn't stand to be around him.
Which is saying something, given that Metallica in general aren't known for being awesome to be around. But you have to give the guy some credit, he had writing credit in Metallica even after he left, just up around until they become unlistenable garbage. Then... Burton is the only one in Metallica I ever really gave much of a shit about it.
Also, you have to give him some credit for having a brilliant guitarist like Marty Friedman in Megadeth... but then Marty left. Which is probably for the better I guess, now he can go on and play in better things... like guest solos on Skyharbor.
But yeah. Given he got kicked out of Metallica for substance abuse supposedly... I mean, getting kicked out of from a thrash band for substance abuse... you have to be pretty bad to do that. So it's not like there's much one can expect from the guy's brain.

I read years ago (late 80's i think) in a metal mag that he was kicked out for being a dick and complaining all the time, mostly that metallica was going soft when they wanted to do their first video. The other members felt that their style of music had been around long enough to turn it from being underground (low paying) to legit (better paying) music. Considering the lawsuits that they would bring against napster later on this lends credibility to the metal mags story. (although the napster issue was many years later)
As I recall he claimed (at the time) that HE left THEM.
Back then all the metal bands used drugs, and while the drug abuse reason is real it is only part of the story. He was violent and verbally abusive when he was high (on as many drugs as possible) and if you listen to some of his live recordings from back then you can tell when he is high and when he isnt.

No, Dave was booted long before Metallica was ever famous. They booted him before they recorded Kill Em All, their first album. But he was booted for being a drunk dick.
Mustane, like many people, have this idea that Obama is coming for our guns. Which, of course, there hasn't been a single movement by Obama against guns in his (almost) 4 years as President. I'm not sure where all this fear is coming from, in regards to Obama and gun control, but it seems pretty unfounded to me.
Either way, Mustane is just another mindless idiot who happens to be famous and thinks his idiotic theories hold more weight because he wrote some songs.

The OBAMMY is comin fer our guns thing has been a right wing scare tactic. When you actually tell someone he hasn't passed gun law one and most likely isn't going to, they lose their shit. It doesn't fit what Fox News and the NRA is spoonfeeding them
The guy who wears Communist symbols and military style clothing, penned a response to Paul Ryan's proclamation that Rage is "one of his favorite bands"
Quote:
Paul Ryan's love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn't understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn't understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine.
Ryan claims that he likes Rage's sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don't care for Paul Ryan's sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage.
I wonder what Ryan's favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of "Fuck the Police"? Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!
Don't mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta "rage" in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he's not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of for campaign contributions.
You see, the super rich must rationalize having more than they could ever spend while millions of children in the U.S. go to bed hungry every night. So, when they look themselves in the mirror, they convince themselves that "Those people are undeserving. They're . . . lesser." Some of these guys on the extreme right are more cynical than Paul Ryan, but he seems to really believe in this stuff. This unbridled rage against those who have the least is a cornerstone of the Romney-Ryan ticket.
But Rage's music affects people in different ways. Some tune out what the band stands for and concentrate on the moshing and throwing elbows in the pit. For others, Rage has changed their minds and their lives. Many activists around the world, including organizers of the global occupy movement, were radicalized by Rage Against the Machine and work tirelessly for a more humane and just planet. Perhaps Paul Ryan was moshing when he should have been listening.
My hope is that maybe Paul Ryan is a mole. Maybe Rage did plant some sensible ideas in this extreme fringe right wing nut job. Maybe if elected, he'll pardon Leonard Peltier. Maybe he'll throw U.S. military support behind the Zapatistas. Maybe he'll fill Guantanamo Bay with the corporate criminals that are funding his campaign – and then torture them with Rage music 24/7. That's one possibility. But I'm not betting on it.
Did I mention Morello is worth $60 Million Dollars?
He is the embodiment of the BS Occupy movement (Tom is like Barry...half white and Kenyan)....a bunch of rich white kids who continue to cry about supposed crimes from Corporate Wall Street, all the while going to Starbucks, buying corporate made electronics, and using corporate social apps to document their "rage".
Like Sean Penn, another Commie who loves the comfort of his money, but raises his fists for the common man.......

Tom Morello is like every other musician, actor, artist who thinks the shit they produce somehow has an effect on things. Someone should remind Tom Morello that NOBODY listened to Rage and changed their view on anything....or shit, NOBODY every listened to Rage and created a view on anything, other than "Holy shit dude, these fucking guys rock.".
John Lennon changed views, created views. Yet he still had NO EFFECT on culture or society, in any way, shape, or form. Bob Marley changed or created views, yet HE still had NO EFFECT on culture or society. And those two had a shit load more "importance" than Rage Against the Machine.
It's like when you hear these egotistical mental midgets come out and talk about how some fan once came up to them to tell them how their music/art/movie saved them, or changed their life. Bullshit, I have never met a human being on this planet who was ever effected by a song. Sure, many have been moved by a song, but it didn't change them. Imagine is one of my all time favorite songs, I love the message. Yet it didn't stop me from buying a nice car, spending money to go to Disney, or make fun of Christians. Why? Because it's a fucking song...as beautiful of a song as it may be, it's just a song. And that's John Lennon.
Note to Tom Morello: You are a great musician, you helped write some great heavy rock songs....THAT'S FUCKING IT. People went to your shows, bought (or illegally downloaded) your albums, and jammed out to your music because they liked the music. It, to paraphrase Paul Baloff of Exodus "The type of music that tickled the same bone that made you smash windows when you were a kid". It didn't change anything, it didn't create a movement. It appealed to pissed off kids who wanted to rant about whatever was pissing them off. No Rage fan gave two shits about any political agenda and none of them gave a shit about the plight of Native Americans.
Get a fucking clue Tom...and you too Dave, and Sean Penn. Nobody gives a shit about your political or social views. Write the damn song, play it loud, and when the song is over, shut the fuck up. You are just as much of an ignorant blowhard as I am....the only difference is I am not so disillusioned to believe that my words have any weight to them, nor do I have an elevated feeling of self importance because of my words. I'm a dipshit with a laptop, you'r a dipshit with a guitar. I'll keep buying (illegally downloading) your music if you keep putting it out, I don't expect you to give a shit about my political views, so don't expect me to give a shit about yours.

Dave was kicked out the day they were set to record "kill 'em all". Kirk Hammett joined metallica the same day. According to the article I read (cant find it on the internet, no one cares about metal from 20+ years ago) It was while they were discussing the details for recording the album that making a video for one of the songs came up. Keep in mind this was when MTV was still fairly new. MTV being 2 or 3 years old by this time. It was this discussion that got Dave pissed off (he was drunk). He thought the band was jumping the gun even thinking of making a video and that no one was ready for metal videos. Dave being drunk, an argument ensued. It was at this time that he "left" or "was kicked out" depending on who tells the story.
"Hit the lights" was recorded the year before the album "Kill 'em all". 'Hit the lights' was first included in "metal massacre" and it got their name out there. "Metal massacre" was a bunch of songs by various unknown metal bands on one tape/record, Sorta like a bunch of game demos on one cd today. That one song got them noticed and also their first real gigs.

I don't hear anything like that from fox or nra...Mostly, I hear that Left Mayors are coming for guns and making it harder for people to defend themselves.
The conspiracy of "Fast and Furious" was just that, an attempt for assault weapons bans by showing people that getting weapons to drug cartels in Mexico was relatively easy.... which it was since the fucksticks who planned it (your Justice Department) had endless cash at their disposal.
Not a peep from you Lefties. But you continue to parrot the bullshit from media matters, msnbc, and other half-wit sites.
waiting for the ''get of my lawn you dirty hippies"
Is this close enough?

you claim to hear nothing from FOx, Rush ,Beck etc, yet you somehow continually espouse their gibberish. So either sleepneat is a Koch brother, or Roger Ailes himself

I bet those Iowans will revolt like they did when the Dixie Chicks dirted on our President! Maybe even the right will get upset, probably be a Fox news piece complaining about how unpatriotic that was. You know because it isn't about politics, it's about America. I'll wait for that......
