From what I heard, and I live literally 3 minutes away from where this shooting happened, there was another person who let him into the theater through the emergency exit door.

I'm just lucky I had one too many beers last night, me and my buddy were going to see the movie at that theater, but I got too tired and canceled.

It's reasonable to expect a 3-month-old and a nine-year-old (in fact, children of any age) at the theater. The older kid wanted to see the movie, and Mom said okay. After buying the tickets, she couldn't afford a babysitter for the younger child.

I expect there to be children at the theater no matter what movie I go to see, or what time I go to see it. It's one of the main reasons I no longer go to the theater. That, and a weak bladder.

11 and 13 are a little different than 6, 9 and an infant. Especially since I know you wouldn't stand for them making noise and moving around during an almost 3 hour long movie.

The movie theater was dark and apparently he used tear gas add that together with panicked people running about it's just as well that nobody tried to shoot him.

I'm with you on the whole notion that excess noise in the theaters is a supreme annoyance, but this was a midnight screening of the new Batman film, a franchise which has a particularly devoted, passionate and in some cases, outright rabid fanbase. In addition to that, many of that crowd were likely having some beers and smoking some weed before the movie started.
Midnight screening are almost always a fairly raucous event.

The young kids at the midnight screenings were not going to be the loudest ones in the theaters by any stretch.

We have to let parents be parents and if kids at the movies bother us, it's generally better for us to decide to watch a matinee, preferably during the week if you have a day off.

Own all the guns you want, the real ability to control gun violence will be with the control of ammunition and the stuff needed to make your own.

This guy went to multiple stores to buy ammo. There should at least be a system that cross references the sale of ammo so that you can't end up with over a 1000 rounds. It's something almost all the mass shootings have in common. They buy a ridiculous amount of ammo for a single person to own.

No matter what type of gun a person has, it's useless without the ammo. Yet that's the part that is the easiest to get.

That reminds me of I think Chris rock, saying give everyone guns, but charge them 1,000 a bullet. That way if your going to shoot someone, you damn well know it's better be worth it.

Gun crimes in the US vs gun crimes in any other countries of the world... that should be proof enough.

Yes we see mass shooting in other countries from time to time, but it happen waaaaaaaaay more often in the US than anywhere else in the world.

By the logic gun nuts imply, the simple fact that anyone can have a gun, those things shouldn't happen, because anyone in the theater would have a gun and could have shot this guy, or any other guy who did shootings since the dawn of time... never happen... EVER.

We had a gun control registry here in Canada... it cost us a fortune, but it was working, gun crimes were getting lower, the Conservative here in Canada scratch the whole thing when the took the majority in the Parliament... now we'll see how much gun crimes goes up again here...
