We have been getting garbage from the learned professions about how we're not treating animals with respect. They shouldn't be called pets, because that is demeaning to them. They should be called companion animals. We shouldn't say we own a cat or dog, but rather that a cat or dog resides with us. Etc..etc..garbage..etc.

And then this video appeared to prove how cruel we are to these poor creatures.
